GENIE Telehandler on standby.
The last week of October was very special for India. The country not only celebrated
Diwali the eagerly awaitedannual Festival of Lights – but also witnessed India’s first-ever
Formula One race. While it was a historic moment for Indian motor-sports, it was also a proud moment for the Terex India team.
Terex India – as an official equipment supplier for Jaypee Sports International (JPSI) the event organizer – arranged for both Terex and Genie equipment to be used at various stages of the race setup and also during the event itself. Thanks to the collaboration of team members across geographies and segments, the Terex brand had a great showing at this major event.
Terex Construction backhoe loaders and skid steers were used during the actual construction phase of the sports city, Terex AWP light towers lit the area for maintenance before and after the event, and articulated booms and scissor lifts were used to assemble and maintain the trade stands. The 5.14 kilometer-long course, located in Noida – where Terex Construction manufactures backhoe loaders -- was called the Buddha International Circuit.
Genie telehandlers and articulated booms grabbed attention on race days, as they were placed across the race track to assist in rescuing cars that became derailed mid-race. And, our articulated booms lifted the TV crews up so they could provide spectators and remote viewers with a bird’s-eye-view of the race proceedings.
A global audience of over 100,000 visitors watched the race, which was one of the most talked about events in India in recent times.
Terex India extends special thanks to team members from around the world who made this great event – and special Terex branding platform – possible.
